We walked many long long halls in this Historical Asylum that we were given the privilege to shoot in....and we saw many strange visuals....

edit: (People keep asking me here and in pm's where this is taken. This is in NY State. It was a farm at one point, a poorhouse, and an asylum. It was built in early 1800's. Many fires and other tragedies took place there over the years. We did much more research on this place than the typical setting we shoot at. We found it quite interesting. We were given free roam of the place for 2 hours...which was surprising and amazing, considering how run down it was: glass and beams falling everywhere. There were many relics in this giant building, that we were able to take pictures of also. Our complete set of photos is on our Facebook Photography site in an album there. Please feel free to stop by and like us there & look thru the Asylum album if interested, as well as a broader range of our photography...thanks much!) [link]

This is in an old Asylum in NY State. Built in 1800's. Long abandoned. We were given special permission to go inside for two hours. It is falling apart literally...but a beautiful structure. (surprised we were allowed in with how broken and such inside) It was the coldest place i've ever been in, colder than out doors, almost in an eerie way, (and we our used to east coast winters!!!) Our entire series of shots is on our Facebook Photography site in an album there for anyone interested. Love to have people stop by and like our site! :)

it is a hard one to find anything online about, (info on), because the building has been used for several uses since the 1800's for brief stints and never caught on really for any of these (uses)....and it is now privately owned but...but was one time a county property...most people even in our area don't know about it...It is been known as "The County Farm" (because of all the property with it, and barns to one side and was a farm at one time). It been called the "County Poor House"...."County Asylum"....we spoke with our County Historian on it, originally....cuz we wanted to properly ask whoever owned it if we could shoot there. He had info on it at our counties historian office/museum. He told us it had been sold decades ago to a private owner and falling apart. (and it wasn't in good shape in certain wings due to fires and other things..not to mention it is open to weather in several wings and floors.) more pictures of the building are on our facebook site in the appropriate folder, cuz many people who live in this area their whole lives have never seen inside, in fact. So we took lots of pics for all to see. Long story short, we accidently ran into the owners sons, out here at time, taking care of business, because their mother (the owner) just died. So we got permission for a two hour shoot. I think there is a link i can find for our Historians site, for what info they do have on this place historically speaking and post it for you. And also, thanks very much for the DD. :)

yes we did!!! the place is considered haunted...we didn't see anything over the top "weird"...but the whole place has a very creepy feel to it. Very rundown!! It was more interesting to read the history of this place, and all the people of various ages who died there, or were treated badly there. Another interesting fact: it was "tomb cold" in there...colder than it actually was outdoors...

Anyone who is interested, can like us on facebook and see the entire set, including many of the things left behind in this place, which was built back in the early 1800's, suffered many fires, and other events through the years. Link below. (Check out the Albums for the Asylum album)
